Notion

Enrich the Notion database you already use, send rows into a campaign, and keep each row's status and comments up to date.

Connect Notion

In Argorant open Settings, then Connected tools, and click Connect Notion. Notion offers to duplicate the Argorant Leads template into your workspace, or asks which pages Argorant may use. Pick either and allow access. You come straight back to Argorant.

Connect a database

With the template, its database is connected and mapped for you. For a database of your own, click Enrich a database, choose it and map its columns (see Map the columns). If a database is missing from the choice, open it in Notion, choose Connections in its menu and add Argorant.

Enrich it

Click Enrich a database, pick the columns to fill and check the count and the cost. Nothing runs until you confirm.

Switch on what you want (optional)

Back in Connected tools, click Manage on the Notion card and switch on Statuses stay in sync, Activity comments or Comment commands. Each one is off until you switch it on.

The Argorant Leads template

The template is a page with a short guide and one database. Its columns match everything Argorant reads and fills:

ColumnWhat it holds
Company, Domain, NameWhat Argorant uses to find the company and the person
Title, Email, Email status, LinkedIn, PhoneThe person's details
Company size, Industry, Location, WebsiteThe company's details
Campaign, Status, Last activityWhere the person stands once the row went into a campaign
Enriched atWhen Argorant last filled the row

When you duplicate it while connecting, Argorant uses this database for Send to Notion, Enrich and statuses, with every column already mapped. Without the template you pick a database yourself.

Map the columns

Argorant finds each row by one of three things, in this order:

  1. a company domain column (a website or an email address works too),
  2. a company name column,
  3. a person name column together with the company domain or company name.

Rows with a person name get the person's details. Rows with only a company get the company's details.

Then pick the column for each value you want filled. Each value can go into an existing column of a fitting type or into a new column that Argorant adds with the name in the template. Leave a value out and Argorant never touches that column.

ValueFitting column types
EmailEmail, Text
Email status (Valid, Catch-all, Risky, Invalid, Not found)Select, Status, Text
Title, Industry, Company size, LocationText, Select
LinkedIn, WebsiteURL, Text
PhonePhone, Text
Enriched at, Last activityDate
StatusSelect, Status
CampaignText, Select

A People column can be marked as the lead owner. Argorant mentions that person in activity comments and never reads anything else about them.

Enrich

  1. In Connected tools, click Enrich a database on the Notion card, or Enrich next to a database under Manage.
  2. Pick the values to fill. Tick Overwrite only if cells that already hold a value may be replaced.
  3. To refresh, choose to enrich only the rows Argorant has not enriched within the last days you pick.
  4. Argorant counts first: the rows it will fill, the people and companies it found, and the most the run can cost against your credit balance.
  5. Confirm. The run never charges more than the amount you confirmed. You can close the window; the progress stays under Manage on the Notion card.

Large databases run in the background. Argorant paces its requests to stay within Notion's limits, so a database of a few thousand rows takes a few minutes.

What enrichment costs

WhatCredits
Work email1 per person you have not unlocked before, and only when the email passes the check
Phone number10 per number, included from the Pro plan, only when one is on record
Title and LinkedInIncluded with the person
Company size, industry, location, websiteYour account's rules for company data apply
A person you unlocked before0
An email that does not pass the check0, and nothing is written
A row Argorant cannot match0

If your credits run out during a run, Argorant stops and keeps every row filled so far. Add credits and run it again: rows that are already filled are left as they are.

Enrichment, statuses, comments and comment commands are included from the Pro plan.

Notion rows into a campaign

  1. In Connected tools, click Add to a campaign on the Notion card and pick a connected database.
  2. Pick the campaign. Argorant counts the rows that have an email.
  3. Confirm. Each person joins the campaign like any other added lead, and the row's Status becomes Added.

People you add from your own database cost no credits. People Argorant found for you were paid for when they were found.

Statuses stay in sync

Switch on Statuses stay in sync and every row that went from Notion into a campaign keeps its Status column current:

StatusWhen
AddedThe person joined the campaign
EmailedAn email of the sequence went out
RepliedThe person replied
InterestedYou or the inbox marked the reply Interested or Meeting request
BouncedAn email bounced
UnsubscribedThe person opted out

Campaign and Last activity update too when you mapped them. A status never moves back: once a person replied, a later email does not set the row to Emailed again.

Activity comments

Switch on activity comments and each row gets one short comment per event, for example:

  • Emailed (step 2)
  • Replied: followed by the first 140 characters of the reply
  • Interested
  • Meeting booked
  • Bounced
  • Unsubscribed

Each event is commented once, even if Notion or Argorant sees it twice. When the database has a lead owner column, the owner is mentioned in the comment.

Comment commands

Switch on comment commands and start a comment on a row with argorant: to act on that person. Argorant answers in the same thread with the result and the name of the person who asked.

CommentWhat happens
argorant: skipThe email goes on your block list and the person leaves every campaign that has not finished with them
argorant: pauseArgorant stops sending to the person in their campaigns
argorant: resumeSending picks up again where it stopped
argorant: enrichThe row is enriched with the database's mapping

An enrich command waits for your OK under Manage on the Notion card, where you see its cost. Switch on Auto-enrich from comments and set a monthly credit cap to let comment enrichments run straight away; once the month's cap is used up, the next ones wait for your OK again.

Commands work only on rows of databases you connected. Anyone who can comment on such a row can run them, and Argorant acts for the account that connected Notion. Comments on other pages, and Argorant's own answers, do nothing.

Send a list

Open any list and click Send to Notion. The list is exported first, so every email is checked and the export uses credits as usual. As soon as the file is ready, each person becomes a row: in your default database (the template's database, for example) or in a new database for that list on the page you picked. Sending the same list again adds only the people who are not there yet.

Collect positive replies (optional)

Under Manage, switch on Positive replies. Every reply you mark Interested or Meeting request in your inbox becomes a row of a Positive replies database on your page, with Name, Email, Company, Label, Campaign, Subject, Reply, Received and a link that opens the conversation in Argorant.

Good to know

  • Argorant reads only the pages and databases you shared with it, and writes only to the page and the databases you connected.
  • Notion shares the name of the person who comments, never their email address.
  • To stop, open Manage on the Notion card and switch a rule off, click Remove next to a database, or click Disconnect. Rows and comments already in Notion stay there. You can also remove Argorant from a page's Connections in Notion.
