Mailbox tags

Tag new mailboxes when you order them, and tag or sign hundreds of existing mailboxes in one step, for example every mailbox of one order.

Tags are short labels on your mailboxes, such as Q4 push or Germany. You filter by them on the Mailboxes page, choose campaign senders by them, and change many mailboxes at once by them. A mailbox keeps up to 30 tags. Tags only label mailboxes: they never send anything or change a setting.

When you order mailboxes

In the order, the review step has Mailbox tags. Pick tags you already use or type new ones, up to 10. Every mailbox of that order gets them, also the mailboxes that are set up later, so you never tag a new order by hand.

The order page shows the tags under Mailbox tags. Change them there and every mailbox of the order changes at once. Mailboxes the order still sets up get the new tags too.

Many existing mailboxes at once

  1. Open Mailboxes and filter the list: by order, domain, tag, status or campaign.
  2. Tick the box in the table header, then click Select all in the selection bar to take every matching mailbox, not only the page you see.
  3. In the selection bar, click Edit to add or remove tags, or Signature to give them all one signature.

To tag every mailbox of an earlier order, choose that order in the orders filter (All orders), or open the order and click Show this order's mailboxes.

A signature for many mailboxes stays personal: write {{first_name}} and {{last_name}}, and each mailbox signs with its own name. See Signatures.

With the API

Tag every mailbox of an order. The first call only counts; send it again with "preview": false to change them:

Shell
curl -X POST "https://app.argorant.com/api/v1/inboxes/tags" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ARGORANT_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"order_id":"b345aa96-059d-47e7-b733-c1899f843a00","add":["Q4 push"],"preview":false}'

Choose mailboxes with emails, domains, tags (mailboxes that carry all of them), status or order_id, and take tags off with remove. GET /api/v1/inboxes/tags lists every tag with how many mailboxes carry it.

Give an order its tags when you order (tags on POST /api/v1/inboxes/orders), or change them later for the order's mailboxes now and to come:

Shell
curl -X POST "https://app.argorant.com/api/v1/inboxes/orders/b345aa96-059d-47e7-b733-c1899f843a00/tags" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ARGORANT_API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"add":["Q4 push"],"remove":["Test"]}'

One signature for every mailbox of an order: POST /api/v1/inboxes/signature/bulk with order_id (or tags) and the template.

With the CLI and AI assistants

Shell
argorant inboxes tags
argorant inboxes tag --order <order-id> --add "Q4 push"
argorant inboxes tag --domains acme.com --add Germany --remove Test
argorant inboxes order-tags <order-id> --add "Q4 push"
argorant inboxes signature bulk --order <order-id> --text "Best,\n{{first_name}}"

In Claude and ChatGPT the tools are argorant_list_inbox_tags and argorant_tag_inboxes. In Claude, argorant_set_order_tags changes an order's tags, and argorant_order_inboxes takes tags.
